Marek Głuchowski, Ph.D.
Legal Counsel, Managing Partner
Doctor of Legal Sciences. Founder and Managing Partner at the Law Firm of Legal Counsels and Attorneys Głuchowski Siemiątkowski Zwara and Partners. He specialises in commercial law and issues pertaining to commercial trading, both in terms of public and civil law. In particular, he deals with issues regarding the activity of financial institutions (banks, insurers, investment funds) and their organisational transformations, as well as issues regarding financial instruments, capital structuring and securing entrepreneurs in regard to commercial risk exposure. His practice also includes matters related to corporate advisory, restructuring, privatisation, energy sector, and international investments. He has held function as the Chairman of the Board of PKO BP S.A. and as Chairman of Supervisory Boards of: PKO BP, Wilbo, Centrum Haffnera.
He has been a member of many supervisory boards, including: the National Investment Fund Magna Polonia, Bank Pocztowy, Nordea Bank Polski, the National Deposit of Securities. He is a Member of the Supervisory Board at PTE AEGON S.A., Kompap S.A. and Remontowa Holding S.A. He is active in various social and economic organisations.
He is the Chairman of the Board of Gdańsk Bussiness Club, an association of entrepreneurs, managers and intellectuals and a member of the Council of the Józef Piłsudski Family Foundation.
He was the first Chairman of the Council of the University of Gdańsk and participated in the councils of the Józef Piłsudski Museum in Sulejówek and Muzeum Narodowe in Gdańsk.
He is an arbitrator of the International Court of Arbitration at the National Chamber of Maritime Economy in Gdynia. From 2017 to 2024 he served as the honorary consul of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
He graduated in law and then completed his doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Gdańsk. He passed the judicial exam and later became a qualified legal counsel. For many years he was a research and didactic worker at the Department of Commercial and International Private Law at the University of Gdańsk.
